Hello – This may seem like a surprising way for me to be starting this letter to you, but I have known from about 16 years of age that I would never be a birth mom. I have been serene with this knowledge, because I have always known that God has a plan to put children in my life. You may be part of this plan. My husband and I provided foster care for children, and in doing so found our desire to be parents. We want the permanency of love and attachment, and to experience the growth of a child. Our dream is to see our child grow up into a strong, confident person. I can picture myself filled with pride, yet tears, as this young adult I have loved and nourished leaves us for college to begin their own journey.
Rob and I have been married for 2 years, and are excited to have a family. Our family currently consists of 3 Labrador dogs. They are very friendly, and love children as much as we do! Rob and I believe that laughter and humor are essential parts in the development of a happy, confident child. We enjoy the fun times we spend with our families at their lake cabins. These days are filled with water activities, laughter and love. The bond we have with our families is special to us and we would like to share this with a child.
Our home is located in a town that still holds the small town feeling. We live on a 1½ acres, and have a huge fenced in back yard. The best part of where we live is not only our wonderful neighbors, but also the safety of a cul-de-sac. Our home offers plenty of space inside and out to play and let children’s minds be creative and explore the world around them.
I truly can’t imagine what your experience as a birth mom has been. I can only tell you that my heart goes out to you, and I thank you for your incredible decision to give life to a child. Please know that Rob and I will provide the very best loving, safe home possible. I wish for you peace, comfort and love during this time.
God’s love is with you!
Karla
